Operation Magic Carpet--Dentist to Return

Approximate Date
Wednesday 12 December 1945

The newspaper clipping references the typhoon, but has some inaccuracies. Lt. Steingart was on active duty at the Naval Supply Depot in San Diego for 7 months. He spent 14 months aboard the USS Ocelot, but the nearly 2 months he spent ashore on Okinawa weren't mentioned. The slated arrival in San Pedro turned out to be incorrect.
